Entrepreneurship Development Cell
About EDC:
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell is a well-established student organization which was formed with the intention to enhance and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit among the young students. Our aim is to create more job providers rather than job seekers.
Achievements:
- Received approval from AICTE, Government of India with a grant of 7.5 Lakhs to fund our activities.
- Established an independent Incubation Centre on campus to plan and organise various events and activities with a projector and full-fledged sound system.
- Partner with Consultancy Firm ‘Investronaut’.
Achievements of startups incubated in the cell
- Team Elecer was the second runner up in the B-Plan 2018 and was invited as a guest speaker at Inception 2.0 held by MIT World Pace University. Team was also invited as the chief guest for Eklavya, annual sports event of Indian Institute of Information Technology and also got nominated for ‘INDIA’s 500 Startups Award’.
- Team COVEREZY got selected as a finalist from all over Maharashtra and secured the 7th position at Global student Entrepreneurs Award (GSEA) Pune finals. They were also selected as a finalist for Asia’s biggest B-Plan competition named Eureka from amongst 10,000 teams which was held at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
- Team Swadheen, having unique idea of helping the specially-abled people by making them self-sustainable secured the 2nd runner-up spot in the B-Plan Competition by IEEE, Credenz held at Pune Institute of Computer Technology.
- Team AVANJAS was the winner of the B-Plan Competition by IEEE, Credenz 2018 held at Pune Institute of Computer Technology.
- Team Farm O Fresh has started with its deliveries and is serving customers happily. It was also an in-kind sponsor for the Blood Donation Camp organised by National Service Scheme of our college.
Initiatives:
Defeat Covid, in association with the Cell was an initiative taken by the alumni members of the Cell including the students of the college and various students from all over the country.The aim was to build an app that defines risky areas (colour coded) on a map interface through crowd sourced data. They introduced auto alert system for the people who have been in contact with recently positive cases and helped people with risky profiles to self-quarantine.
Vishwapreneur is a National Level Entrepreneurial Summit showcasing entrepreneurs, creators and innovative minds of our century who had the courage to think out of the box.
Vishwapreneur`20 formulated in order to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and other successful industrialists on the same platform to gain the first-hand experience from individuals who are already excelling in their fields. The national level E-summit was organized on 8th and 9th of February at Ganesh Kala KridaManch, Pune. The chief guest for the opening ceremony were Mr. Chandrakant Dada Patil, State President of BJP - Maharashtra and Mr. Pradeep Rawat - the Chairman, National Shipping Board.

EDC Ki Aadalat
This activity is arranged to increase the understanding of the Legal aspects of the corporate scams, and to inculcate values like presence of mind, alertness, word manipulation etc.

In this activity, we indulge our members to make utmost profits out of the least possible investments.
Industrial Visit
In an academic year, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell organises different industrial visits for the members of the Cell to learn different aspects of setting up a big company.
Group Discussion
A Group Discussion on ‘The Union Budget 2019 for the Start-ups and Business Ecosystem’ and 'Privatisation of various sectors by Indian Government' was arranged with a motto to enhance the thinking skills and listening abilities of students

B-PLAN
Everyone has ideas but not everyone has the courage to act and execute it. The Business Plan competition provides members some motivation to go through the idea with an equally motivated team.
CORPSTRATA
Corpstrata comes from Corporate Strategies. The motto behind organising this event is to introduce the entrepreneurial concepts in an easy and playful manner to the first year members of the Cell.
BIZZHOUR
BizzHour, a shark tank inspired national level investment-based competition was organized on 7th of February under the national level convention event Vishwapreneur20. BizzHourin association with Make in India, Funding partner Alacrity India, Outreach Partner Startup Grind and Learning Partner Progate was structured for the overall development of the team.
It was a combination of B-plan, Shark Tank, Open Floor and Hackathon in which participants had to pitch in front of the investors followed by additional crises for further evaluation. This event played a vital role in inculcating the skills required for their upcoming journey of startups, establishing contacts and building a strong network of like-minded people.
The guidance and the inspiration provided by the Investors and open floor guests surely helped college students to explore the unexplored entrepreneurship qualities among them.
Education Fair
An Education Fair was organised by our Cell in association with the Training and Placement Cell. Institutes from various domains such as Engineering, Management, Finance and Foreign languages were invited by which the students got an opportunity to discover their dream program.
Startup Meet
It is a platform where E-Cells from all over Pune come to interact with each other and build a network of likeminded people. This network can be used for everlasting relations and mutual benefits throughout the lifetime of the Cells.
